The Police

• The Ratbridge Police are a hot mess. They ride bicycles with wheels that are many-sided rather than circular, leading to squeaks of pain when the bicycles bump along on the roads.
• Because of this, the police are known as Squeakers. Better than Squealers, right?
• The Squeakers show up on the path leading to the pirate ship, and Snatcher tells the Chief Squeaker that they were just attacked.
• Before the police can arrest anyone, though, Willbury says that he's a lawyer and a circuit judge, which makes them hesitate.
• Then Snatcher has a convo with the Chief, complete with weird catch phrases and funny hand gestures. Marjorie hypothesizes that they're both members of guilds that are like secret organizations with agreements in place.
• Whatever they do, it works, and the police end up doing everything Snatcher says. They arrest Arthur for theft, and leave him (and his wings) in Snatcher's custody.
