After this, Maniac is ready to take off.
Don't underestimate Amanda, though. She does everything she can to convince Maniac to stay—telling him that the taunts and graffiti don't mean anything, that he needs his room, that he needs a bathroom, that he needs her books.
Maniac takes off anyway, but much to Amanda's (and our) relief, comes back that night.
Amanda then gets an idea that she's sure will make Maniac want to stay—if he can tackle Cobble's Knot, no one will question whether or not he belongs.
