When Max wakes up, she is warm and safe, which is pretty different from the way the past couple of days have gone.
She realizes that she's at Ella's house, and that she's been bandaged up. Nonetheless, her shoulder still hurts.
The bedroom door opens slowly, and Ella and her mom ask her if she likes pancakes and breakfast sausages.
She nods and they leave to let her get ready. When she gets up, she sees that her clothes have all been laundered, and that there's a new sweatshirt with large slits cut into the back for her wings. Aw…
