Angel says that she heard stuff people thought while she was locked up, and through their thoughts, she was able to figure out that there's a place where information about their origins is stored.
She says that it's somewhere called the Institute (or something like that) in New York City. She also says that they weren't made in test tubes like many of the other hybrids.
Instead, they actually had parents—real parents—and they were born from biologically human mothers.
