Sir Lionel in The Once and Future King

By T.H. White

Sir Lionel

This guy is Lancelot's other cousin. He doesn't go in for morals like many of his family members do. In fact, this guy flat out laments that "Morals seem to run in my family" (K.29.5).

His experience on the Grail Quest is quite similar to Gawain's: he's lectured by a bunch of old hermits and told that he's too quick to kill people. Sir Lionel gets flogged with thorns a lot; this happens both when he's captured by Sir Turquine, and during the Grail Quest.
