Orange Is the New Black What's Up With the Title?

Chapter 4 of Orange is the New Black is called "Orange is the New Black" and features an article called "Oranginas Uncorked" from the New York Times. Piper's friend sends her this article about women "clad in brilliant orange" (4.99) with a note saying "NYers wear orange in solidarity with Piper's plight!" (4.99)—you know, even though the article doesn't have anything to do with prison, these women probably don't even know Piper, and Piper's prison uniform is khaki. We guess both Piper and her friends can make absolutely anything be all about her.
