The Color of Magic Allusions

Terry Pratchett created his own world in The Color of Magic, one separate from our own save for the occasional multidimensional tourist popping his head in to see what that whole Roundworld thing is about. As such, there are very few explicit shout-outs in the text but plenty of implicit allusions and references. Check it:

• Liessa and Wyrmberg society are heavily influenced by Anne McCaffery's The Dragonriders of Pern  series. 
• Bravd and the Weasel seem to be references to Fritz Leiber's famous fantasy duo, Fafhrd and the Gray Mouser. 
• Kring, the wordy black sword, has more than a passing resemblance to the weapon wielded by Elric of Melniboné, a cursed black blade named Stormbringer.
