A gallery agrees to display ten of Greta's portraits.
Alas, none of them sell—sigh—though one of Greta's works, a triptych of Lili, does receive some attention from a Parisian art critic.
The gallery owner keeps the triptych for consignment, hoping it will sell.
Speaking of Lili, she mentions a boyhood friend of Einar's: Hans.
Allegedly, Hans has relocated to Paris.
Greta writes the Parisian art critic, asking him if he knows Hans, and if so, where they can find him.
