Chapter 8
- For their annual August holiday, Greta and Einar travel to Menton, a French harbor town.
- Greta thinks Lili should see it, so Einar changes into Lili.
- The two women go for a walk, but Greta has a surprise: She has found Hans and they are meeting him for lunch.
- Lili is scared that Hans will recognize her as Einar, but he doesn't appear to. Lunch goes well.
- That night, as they are in bed together, Einar is still Lili, and Greta wonders what it would be like to kiss Lili as she might kiss her husband.
- But they do not kiss.
