Sergeant Cuff instructed a police officer that he knew to head to Rotterdam to see what happened to the three Indians who were suspected of murdering Godfrey Ablewhite. They were suspected of having boarded a ship bound for Rotterdam.
The police officer traced the men and found that they were now headed for Bombay (a.k.a. Mumbai) in India.
The officer informs Sergeant Cuff.
Cuff sends a telegram to India with instructions that the ship should be boarded, and the men arrested, as soon as it arrives in Mumbai.
