That night, Newt convinces Minho to be the leader, and all of the Gladers (kids from the Glade) made makeshift packs of clothes from their bedsheets and gather plastic bags filled with water.
Aris asks Thomas if he felt he was crazy when he first heard Teresa in his head. The boys bond for a brief moment before Minho addresses the group.
Minho asserts his dominance in front of the group, then the clock strikes 6:00. The Flat Trans (which is an oddly shaped portal thingy) appears, and the boys go in—Minho first and Thomas last.
Aris tries to communicate with Thomas telepathically right before he enters the Flat Trans, but Thomas isn't having any of it.
And the kids are in.
