Judd tries to imagine what it'll be like to be a dad.
It's a touchy subject, because he and Jen had almost had a baby a few years prior. Sadly, her pregnancy ended in a miscarriage.
Jen called him at work and told him that "something's wrong" (21.9). Although Judd rushed to the hospital, he wasn't able to make it before the baby was lost.
