Seems like Alma rushed into marriage for nothing—she ends up having a miscarriage, and now is regretting having married Cabot; Cabot, on the other hand, doesn't regret a single thing.
Eventually, Alma moves back
in with her grandma. Cabot loses his job and spends his time lying in bed,
calling Alma constantly, and writing her long letters; he also continues his
Biblical studies.
He's getting more and more
fanatical about the Book of Enoch, and Alma is kind of afraid of him. After
all, he seems to be going insane.
