Lowrider in Writing My Wrongs: Life, Death, and Redemption in an American Prison

By Shaka Senghor

Lowrider is Shaka's neighbor across the hall in solitary confinement at Standish Maximum Correctional Facility. He says hi to Shaka using a piece of paper on a string, gives him some magazines and offers further reading material.

He's an older guy and generally seems chill and mild-mannered, but he'd cut up somebody's face for failing to pay him back on time. Shaka puts this down to the brutal prison environment, and appreciates the guy's kindness to him personally.
