Mad Max: Fury Road Scene 18 Summary

  • They're relatively safe, but the engines are "very hot and real thirsty." They can't go anywhere far until the engines have cooled.
  • Max tells them to take the rig half a mile down the track, and heads off to get rid of this whole Bullet Farmer problem.
  • While the crew cools the engines, they hear gunfire and then an explosion in the distance.
  • Then, out of the mist, Max approaches, toting a bunch of guns and ammo, and—thankfully—a steering wheel.
  • He's covered in blood, which he rinses off with mother's milk from the War Rig.
  • Soon enough, they're back on the road, driving through a muddy wasteland filled with crows and scavengers.
  • The next morning, Max awakes from a dream of the people he didn't save. Furiosa's at the wheel.
  • Max asks her how she knows that the green place exists, and we learn that she was born there.
  • When she was a child, Immortan Joe's men stole her, and raised her at the Citadel.
  • He wants to know why she's doing this—why she's helping these women escape.
  • She's got one word for him: "redemption."
