When Umbridge fails to teach actual defense in Defense Against the Dark Arts, it's time for the students of Hogwarts to take matters in their own hands.
They form Dumbledore's Army so they can a) figure out how to defend themselves if they're ever attacked by a dark wizard, and b) pass their O.W.L.s.
For some reason, we don't think most of them are in it for the extra exam prep.
So who's in this determined bunch of Hogwarts students?
Neville Longbottom (Matthew Lewis): Though he's always been kind of hopeless when it comes to wizardry, Neville makes some real progress as member of D.A. We also find out that he's got his own tragic back story—his parents were tortured by Bellatrix Lestrange. Poor Neville.
Fred & George Weasley (James Phelps and Oliver Phelps): The Weasley twins get to test some of their potential joke products and then show off their creations when they fly out of Hogwarts in a burst of fireworks. Umbridge is not pleased. Good.
Ginny Weasley (Bonnie Wright): If we're going by Ginny's longing looks, she's nursing a serious crush on Harry Potter. She's gonna have to wait another movie or two to make her move. In the meantime, she's developing some serious battle skills. Not bad for a fourth year.
Seamus Finnegan (Devon Murray): He accuses Harry of lying about Voldemort only to apologize later in the movie. We love it when a minor subplot gets closure.
The students in Dumbledore's Army are Harry's friends. They stick by him through thick and thin and come to his aid when he needs them. That's what friends are for. But, they also teach him a really important lesson—he can lead. We think that gonna come in handy during this whole war-with-Voldemort thing.
