Scene 12
Scene 12
Harry sends a letter to Sirius because he's feeling pretty lonely and thinks his godfather can relate.
While he's outside, Harry sees the black horses from the carriages flying around the Hogwarts grounds and heads towards them.
There, he runs into Luna Lovegood, who's feeding the horses. She explains that they're called Thestrals and are only visible to people who've seen death.
Harry saw Cedric die and Luna saw her mother die when she was only nine years old, so that explains why they can both see them.
Luna tells Harry that she still has her father and that they both believe Harry about Voldemort being back.
It's not much of a comfort, but Harry will take it. Luna and her dad may be the only ones who don't think he's a liar.
That's probably just how You Know Who wants you to feel, Luna explains. If Harry feels alone and friendless and cut-off from everyone he loves, he's a lot easier to beat.
