Sirens

Seductive women who sing beautifully mesmerizing songs to lure passing sailors to their deaths. The Argonauts escape their hypnotic melodies by having Orpheus, the master minstrel, play a song to drown them out. The Sirens also make an appearance in Homer's Odyssey.
