Easy breezy and about as delicious as ambrosia. Our narrator, Percy, makes this a really fun ride. He's a twelve year-old armed with a great sense of humor, and he notices everything. Everything. The only tricky part about reading The Lightning Thief is that it is filled with references to Ancient Greek culture and Greek mythology. But if you aren't familiar with this stuff, never fear. Percy and his friends will help you learn all about it, leaving you with a great foundation in Greek studies (which will pop up in lots of books later on).
