Reverend Mother

Maria doesn't appear to have parents in her life, so she relies heavily on the Reverend Mother for life advice and general guidance. Reverend Mother is always there to gently but firmly force Maria to face tough challenges and pursue a life that suits her. She recognizes that Maria is not necessarily suited for the abbey, and helps Maria rethink how to wed her spiritual beliefs/goals with her own particular gifts and priorities.

The end result: Maria finds personal fulfillment by marrying Captain von Trapp. That love story wouldn't have been possible without the Reverend Mother's intervention. We are definitely Team TRM.
