  • Birdy and his fellow soldiers are ordered into Iraq and start moving.
  • They hit a sandstorm and have to take cover in their Humvee for two days.
  • Birdy's unit goes to An Nasiriyah. They search a boy who owns an RGB launcher, and kill him when he tries to run.
  • Birdy's squad picks up a prisoner in An Najaf and drops him off at a checkpoint.
  • They ride into Baghdad just as the Iraq 5th Corps formally surrender.

  • Jonesy runs to protect a child who is being shot at and Birdy runs after him. Birdy's leg is wounded.
  • They return to Captain Roberts, where Birdy realizes Jonesy is dead.
  • Birdy returns to camp and says goodbye to everyone in his unit. He writes his uncle a letter before going to Germany to have his leg treated.
