Character Role Analysis

Andy Jackson

The story centers on Andy. Sure, there are a bunch of individual narratives happening—we get prayers from B.J., diary entries from Keisha, and letters from Rhonda—but these mainly fill us in on what's going down with Andy. He's our main player, and he's also the character who goes through the biggest emotional change during the book. He starts out as a happy-go-lucky, popular kid with his whole future ahead of him, but quickly turns into a depressed teen with no where to turn. He's our guy, and we root for him even as it starts to seem hopeless.
