The Student Timeline and Summary

The student has a summer fling with Kristyna, but he doesn't really get anywhere with her, if you know what we mean. He invites her to Prague.
Voltaire invites the student to hang out with the country's greatest poets, but the student has to turn him down because Kristyna is in town.
The student has a major attack of litost when he sees Kristyna in Prague because she looks like a backwoods girl.
The student manages to sneak away to the poets' night because Kristyna wants her book signed by Goethe.
The student hangs out with the poets for a while before he gets his big chance to defend Lermontov. The poets think he's a genius.
The student tells Goethe about his problem with Kristyna, and the poet writes a beautiful inscription in Kristyna's book.
The student returns to his room and tries to make love to Kristyna, but she stops him. They have a problem with communication.
In despair, the student returns to the Writers Club the next day. Petrarch declares Kristyna's love letter pure poetry and admits the student into the brotherhood of poetry.
