Katharine (Kristin Scott Thomas)’s Timeline and Summary

Katharine arrives in Egypt with her husband Geoffrey, who works for British intelligence.
She travels with the Royal Geographic Society and makes copies of the cave paintings in the Cave of Swimmers.
She begins an affair with Almásy, a member of the Royal Geographic Society.
Afraid that Geoffrey knows about their affair, Katharine breaks it off with Almásy.
He becomes jealous and is sometimes cruel to her.
Geoffrey attempts to kill Almásy by crashing his plane into him, but Katharine is in the plane.
She is injured, and Almásy carries her to the Cave of Swimmers.
Inside, she writes in Almásy's book/journal while she waits for him to return.
But he doesn't return, and she dies inside the cave.
