  • The Jinni springs forth from his flask, where he's been held for a thousand years, into Arbeely's shop.
  • He helps Arbeely with tinsmithing, but is just so bored with it.
  • He seduces Sophia, whom he meets in Central Park, and forgets all about her.
  • Wandering around the city one night, he meets the Golem, and the two agree to weekly walks to build their friendship.
  • During the week, he starts crafting increasingly intricate works for art for Arbeely, like an ornate tin ceiling and beautiful necklaces.
  • He's being followed by two men: Mahmoud Saleh, who is possessed but can see the Jinni for what he really is, and Joseph Schall, a creepy old man who is actually a reincarnated evil wizard.
  • When the Golem brings the Jinni to the dance hall, he turns out to really know how to move.
  • The Golem ends up losing control and attacking her friend's abusive boyfriend, and the Jinni stops it.
  • Anna, the Golem's friend, later blackmails him, and he pays her, but tells her not to do it again or she'll pay the price.
