Bannadonna ("The Bell Tower") Timeline and Summary

Bannadonna determines to build a gigantic bell tower.
During the making of the big, awesome bell, he kills a workman, busting his ladle, which falls into the furnace and creates a flaw in the bell.
But Bannadonna covers over the flaw, because he is sneaky.
Bannadonna builds a secret clockwork figure that will ring the bell.
Why? That's the plot. Don't ask why.
The figure goes awry and Bannadonna is killed.
The bell is rung at his funeral, but because of the flaw it crashes down to earth.
The bell tower stands for a year and is leveled by an earthquake.
