Thérèse Raquin Chapter 10 Summary

  • Three weeks pass without Thérèse and Laurent hanging out. Tragedy, we know.
  • One Thursday evening, Michaud tells everyone about a horrible murder case. He laments about how many murderers escape justice.
  • Grivet and Olivier join in the debate, arguing that the murderer always gets caught eventually. Michaud still insists that sometimes the police are powerless.
  • Thérèse and Laurent don't say a word during this whole conversation, but their eyes meet across the table.
  • Their murderous, homicidal-maniac eyes.
