The Time Traveller

The Time Traveller is a classic protagonist: even for those few moments when he's not telling his own story, he's still the center of attention. (Notice how everyone watches him at the end of Chapter 2.) He's the character with the most to lose, and an argument could be made that, with Weena's death, he does lose the most. He's also the character who drives the story – his actions set in motion almost all the major plot points.
