Character Analysis
Charles Tansley is a student of Mr. Ramsay’s who was invited to the house for the summer. No one likes him because he has a gargantuan chip on his shoulder. It’s so big that it gets in the way of pretty much every single interaction he has with another human being. He painfully feels the fact that he comes from a working class background, and refuses to let anyone forget it. Although Mrs. Ramsay doesn’t like him much, she still works her groove thang and makes him fall in love with her.
