Character Analysis
You may have met Aeneas before. He's the protagonist of Virgil's famous epic poem, The Aeneid, but his role isn't nearly as big in Troilus and Cressida. Although he's one of the commanders of the Trojan army, Shakespeare makes him little more than a glorified messenger in this play. In fact, his main job is to deliver Hector's throw down challenge to the Greek army (1.3). Yep, this is kind of a letdown if you're expecting Aeneas to be as awesome in this play as he is in Virgil's poem.
