Young Carl drools over newsreel footage of his idol, explorer Charles Muntz.
Carl meets Ellie and promises take her to Paradise Falls, South America.
Carl and Ellie get married and live happily after.
When Ellie dies, Carl becomes a recluse. He meets Russell, and tells him to get lost.
After thumping a construction worker with his cane, Carl’s sentenced to live at Shady Oaks retirement home.
When the folks from Shady Oaks arrive to pick up Carl, he and his house lift off into the sky, aided by millions of balloons. He heads for Paradise Falls.
Carl discovers that Russell accidentally stowed away under his house. He’s stuck with him.
After a nasty thunderstorm, Carl and Russell arrive in South America and start lugging the house toward Paradise Falls.
Carl meets Kevin and Dug. He tries to get rid of them. They won’t leave.
The dog pack that’s hunting Kevin captures Carl and his posse and takes them to their master, Muntz.
Carl and Russell run away from Muntz, who’s gone loco.
When Russell goes back to save Kevin from Muntz, Carl chases after him.
After fighting Muntz on his airship, Carl rescues Kevin, Russell, and Dug.
Carl stands in for Russell’s dad at his Wilderness Explorer pin ceremony, and takes him out for ice cream afterward.
