The Boy Timeline and Summary

The Boy gets the Velveteen Rabbit as a Christmas present, but gets bored of him after a few hours.
One night, the Boy can't find his china dog to sleep with, so Nana gives him the Velveteen Rabbit.
The Boy sleeps with the Rabbit every night after that.
In spring, the Boy and the Rabbit play in the garden and the Boy accidentally leaves the Rabbit outside after dark.
No worries, he just has Nana go fetch his Rabbit.
When she says his bunny is just a toy, the Boy protests that his rabbit is real.
In the summer, the Boy and the Rabbit play by the woods near the Boy's house.
Weeks later, the Boy gets sick with scarlet fever.
He eventually recovers and he finds out he's going on a trip to the seaside. He even gets a brand new bunny to sleep with.
The next spring, the Boy has returned from his trip and is playing outside when he notices some wild rabbits.
One looks an awful lot like the Velveteen Rabbit. Too bad he lost that bunny when he was sick with scarlet fever. What a bummer that was.
