Grandma Aching

Grandma Aching may be dead by the time the story opens, but that doesn't mean that she can't guide Tiffany in her journey—time and again when Tiffany finds herself in dire situations, she tries to think of what her dear granny would do. And at the very end, Grandma Aching even swoops down from the sky to help Tiffany out. She doesn't fight the whole battle for her granddaughter, though—instead she helps her along and shows her how to succeed in defeating the Queen. That's what a true blue mentor would do.
