Older Man

He's the center of the story, the big kahuna, the dude whose personal drama (symbolized by all the personal effects out on the lawn for sale) touches off the whole story. We're not entirely sure about his backstory or what he really wants to happen after he sells off all his stuff, and we really aren't sure what he gets out of getting the young couple drunk while they try to price gouge him on his personal effects, but no matter. His story is the story, so he gets to be the protagonist here.
