• Min meets Ed at her best friend Al's birthday party, and sparks fly.
• Min meets Ed at the movies for their first date. They're seeing an arty movie that Min picked—Min loves arty movies.
• Leaving the theater, they run into an old woman who Min decides is Lottie Carson, a film star; they follow her all over town.
• Min and Ed's courtship escalates quickly. Min and Ed are from different social circles, and they frequently marvel at their differences. There are more dates, lots of late-night phone calls, and plenty of make out sessions.
• Min worries about whether or not she should sleep with Ed. She's a virgin, and she feels conflicted about sex.
• Meanwhile, Min gets in a fight with Al and they stop talking.
• Min and Ed are planning an elaborate birthday party for "Lottie Carson," the woman they followed on their first date. It's a fanciful plan, which is normal for Min, but for Ed, not so much.
• The young couple gets in a huge fight on Halloween. Long story short, Ed's a huge jerk, but Min forgives him.
• Min decides she's ready to sleep with Ed. She informs him of her decision, and they start making plans.
• Min asks her friend Lauren to cover for her, and Lauren reluctantly says yes.
• Min and Ed have sex.
• Shortly thereafter, they break up when Min finds out that Ed has been cheating on her.
• At the same time, Min finds out the real Lottie Carson is long dead—more than this, though, Ed's known and he's been keeping it from her. What a prince.
• Min dumps Ed then and there, running into the arms of her friend Al. No, not like that.
• Shortly before the breakup, Min and Al make up… sort of. Al confesses his love for her, while Min is surprised and just can't deal.
• That said, Min and Al hang out a lot while she recovers from her breakup with Ed.
• One day in December, Min decides she's ready to hand back all the treasures she collected over the course of her relationship with Ed. She asks Al to give her a ride to drop it off. Thunk, she leaves the box on his doorstep.
