  • Min meets Ed at her best friend Al's birthday party, and sparks fly.
  • Min meets Ed at the movies for their first date. They're seeing an arty movie that Min picked—Min loves arty movies.
  • Leaving the theater, they run into an old woman who Min decides is Lottie Carson, a film star; they follow her all over town.
  • Min and Ed's courtship escalates quickly. Min and Ed are from different social circles, and they frequently marvel at their differences. There are more dates, lots of late-night phone calls, and plenty of make out sessions.
  • Min worries about whether or not she should sleep with Ed. She's a virgin, and she feels conflicted about sex.
  • Meanwhile, Min gets in a fight with Al and they stop talking.
  • Min and Ed are planning an elaborate birthday party for "Lottie Carson," the woman they followed on their first date. It's a fanciful plan, which is normal for Min, but for Ed, not so much.
