But we're talking about mean in mathematical terms... here, it's just a fancy word for average.
To calculate averages, we first add the numbers...
...to get a total of 291
Since there were 6 numbers, we divide by 6.
So 6 goes into 29 four times, leaving 5... then 6 goes into 51 eight times, leaving 3...
so we have 48 and 3 sixths... or 48 and a half... or 48.5.
So the answer is B.
