Freud's tone isn't overly scientific, and he makes an effort to provide basic background
information, hinting that his audience isn't entirely made up of professional, experienced psychologists.
Answer (A) is out.
Of course, he also uses lots of big terms and makes a case for dream interpretation
to be used as a tool by professionals...
...making it seem unlikely that he intends the book for just anybody.

(D) gets it just right. The book isn't only for experts--the title does say "for Beginners"
after all--but it's not for total newbies either.
If the audience was only interested in, for example, monster truck rallies, what would
