Glory

Mastering a skill and then transforming it into a lifelong career is undoubtedly fulfilling. Even when the days are long and no one seems to see the beauty in that incredible cut of veal (seriously, why is nobody Instagramming it?), butchers can rest easy knowing that they're delivering quality food to their customers.

There's also a certain satisfaction that comes from helping someone plan their meals. Imagine a mother of five coming in, children dangling from her neck and running in circles around her legs, just trying to figure out how she'll possibly have time to cook dinner and also make sure none of her motley crew ends up covering the walls in crayon.

The butcher whips up a family-size portion of seasoned turkey burger patties and jots down a quick cooking guide that will save her both time and sanity. The mother smiles with relief as she leaves. The butcher is officially a hero. Now that's a glorious feeling.
