Fame

We heard she wasn't even all that good at things other than flags. (Source)

A farrier's fame is really dependent on asking the right person. For instance, if we asked you to name famous people who sew, who would you say? Betsy Ross? But, if you surveyed famous clothing designers about who has mad sewing skills, we'd wager that you'd hear the same name from several different sources. It's like that with farriers as well.

Consider this: Farriers are to horses what caddies are to golfers. The best caddies are known within that circle, even though you might walk by one in the grocery store and never even know it. That's probably why there is an International Horseshoeing Hall of Fame to give hard-working farriers the recognition they deserve. (But, we're guessing the prints there look a little different than those on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, if you don't count Trigger or Mr. Ed.)
