We're going to go out on a limb here and guess that many people who choose to be greenskeepers are doing it because they like being outside, being close to their favorite sport, or exercising all day. After all, it probably isn't the pay that they're after.
If you're happy with your job in spite of the pay, chances are you're deriving some satisfaction from keeping the greens nice and tidy for the patrons of the course. Sure, you're not saving the world, but you're bringing a bit of order to the chaos. You may not be coming to work in a Ferrari, but so what? That wasn't why you took this job in the first place.
