Odds of Getting In
We're not going to lie to you: your odds of getting in are pretty slim. You have to fight off the bright-eyed interns, the managers with twenty years of experience, and the executives who definitely don't want to give up their position. It's basically a big competition—there are a lot of people hoping to become an executive and only a few executive spots.
There isn't just one way in. Sometimes executives get the job based on pure luck, and sometimes they get it the old-fashioned way: through extremely hard work. It's important to remember that preparation is the key. As long as you put forth your best effort and place yourself in situations where luck will be on your side (like shmoozing it up with other executives at a company dinner), you'll have a chance of getting in.
