Glory
Depending on the job, you can take a lot of pride in having created a physical product by the end of the day. If you work in a small shop visited by people who need things repaired, you're providing a much needed service that can save people a lot of money compared to completely replacing whatever's broken.
If you're the type who likes working with your hands (considering your interest in this field, we're guessing so), then that can definitely feel satisfying.
However...do realize that most of the jobs in this field now use computers to do all of the metal-shaping.
