If information and knowledge for knowledge’s sake are what sets your heart a-beating, then you’ll no doubt be feeling pretty good about yourself after a long day at the office. And just think, you don’t even have the icky ethical dilemmas that more hardcore marketers might have. (“How can we trick people into buying our very unnecessary product?”)

On the flip side, your life’s work is about reporting what’s happening in the world, not changing the world or making it a better place for someone. If you know you’ve got a philanthropic, orphanage-building, awareness-raising kind of heart beating inside you, then this isn’t the gig for you.
