Stress

There are some perks to working at home—pajamas, anyone?—but workload is not one of them. As your own boss, you are 100% responsible for your own paycheck. Need a two-week vacation? Hope you like choosing between bringing your laptop bag to the beach and straight up losing two weeks of pay.

Even if you forever forgo the beach (sand gets in everything anyway), you still may be faced with the question of work or rest on a daily basis. The phone is ringing at dinnertime. It's a client. What do you do?

This sort of relentless demand for your attention is going to cause some life stress, as is the near constant requirement to actually do well if you want to keep the lights on. It's one thing to work at raising your annual take-home from $80,000 to $120,000, but something completely different to bring $20,000 up to $35,000.
