Remember, you're getting paid to make sure the work environment and the products of that environment are safe for workers and customers. That means that a lot is riding on you doing the job you were hired to do. If a restaurant gives people a foodborne disease that causes their, ahem, excrement, to turn an uncomfortable shade of blue, things won't look great if you just gave that restaurant a passing grade a few weeks earlier.

Also, don't take bribes. Why not? Because if someone is shady enough to pay you a bribe, then they're also likely to get caught doing whatever it is they're doing wrong. Don't let it be you causing the trouble.
