Stress

Esports carries with it the stress of any professional sport that doesn't offer a real contract to any of its employed team players—as in lots and lots of it.

Just imagine you've given up years of your life to pursue your dream of becoming the best of the best, so that you can get on a top-rated team, only to choke at the last minute from the pressure and get replaced within a matter of weeks. Then what? Learn another game? Quit gaming entirely and try to see if any sort of college will take you in and let you study something that you can make a living at, like maybe video game design?

Nobody gives you lots of money for nothing. Sponsors expect results. Fans demand them. If you think it's stressful getting to the top, that's nothing compared to the nightmares you'll have about staying there.

But you're young, right? Your heart can handle it.
