Stress

This is one of the occasions when we don't use the caveat it depends. It doesn't depend. There will be stress.

That's actually one of the reasons ships have captains in the first place—you're the one who deals with the stress by figuring out the best course of action. You're the one who's called on to keep the journey sailing smoothly, even in the most treacherous of waters. When things are going south, that's exactly the time when you've got to take the helm.

Unless you're just going south according to the compass. Then you're probably okay letting the helmsman do their job.
