20-Year Prospect

20-Year Prospect

Luckily, the need for zookeepers is predicted to grow a lot over the next ten years—but that doesn't mean they'll be handing out jobs like Halloween candy (source). You're still going to have to get in with the staff and prove you have the best interests of the zoo animals at heart. Channel your inner beast, put on your khaki shirt and pants, and you can make it happen.

Zoos remain one of the primary ways that the U.S. conserves endangered species. As the human population worldwide continues to grow at an incredible rate, more animals are losing their lives and habitats to industry, development, overhunting, and poaching.

Now more than ever, zoos play an integral part in both protecting animals and helping repopulate and reintroduce endangered species. The next twenty years are going to be very important in saving countless animals, and you can be right at the front line of this effort.

Trust us, the animals will appreciate it. You may still need to pick up poop from time to time, though.
