Job Satisfaction

48%

General quality of life statement

There are majors that will totally get you loaded, and make you super happy to be doing it. Unfortunately, going into anthropology probably won't get you loaded, and the job satisfaction is less than half at 48%. Perhaps worse than that is the fact that the median salary is significantly below average. Ouch. If this is the only thing that matters to you, you should continue on down another avenue.

To be clear, this isn't the major with the worst statistics for happiness and income, but we understand how the numbers might be discouraging. However, there are plenty of people who are perfectly happy earning just enough. After all, life isn't just about material wealth, is it? If you study anthropology, you're likely to figure that out sooner rather than later. If your mantra is "Do what you love and love what you do," then anthropology might be the perfect major for you.
