Speaking of rolling in the dough (wait, we weren't?), majoring in computer science sure is in high demand. In the time of both parents having to work to support a family, this is probably one of the few jobs left in America that allows a family to live pretty comfortably off of just one.

So as long as you land a job and don't stop having one, once you hit the end of your career, you'll probably be making a salary in the six figures. Get ready for those foreign sports cars.

While making tons of money is great, keep in mind that these computer science jobs are mostly situated in places that also have high costs of living, such as the Silicon Valley where houses, on average, can cost up to $1 million. You're probably not going to have as much extra money to spend as you think you will.

Perhaps that's why the job satisfaction of a computer science major is only 45%. Still, though, it's much better to be making $100,000 a year and having to spend $80,000 (80%) than to be making $50,000 and having to spend $40,000…are we right?
